A small, respectful data footprint.

LocalStash collects the information you choose to submit so a person can review and respond to your request. We do not sell submission data. We use basic, privacy-respecting traffic counts to understand which public pages help travelers, without building advertising profiles.

Backroad Club downloads

LocalStash counts a verified card download once per first-party anonymous visitor cookie. Short-lived, one-way network hashes and basic interaction checks help exclude repeated or automated downloads. We do not store a raw network address or collect contact information when someone downloads the card.

Thumbs Up

LocalStash uses a first-party anonymous visitor cookie to remember a Thumbs Up and prevent repeated clicks for the same Stash. Short-lived, one-way network hashes help limit automated or purchased clicking. We do not store a raw network address with a Thumbs Up or use this signal to build an advertising profile.

Human review

Recommendations, nominations and participation requests enter a controlled review queue. They are not published automatically.
