Steve comes to Trinidad with a vast amount of municipal experience.
From City Clerk to City Manager in great places like Rio Rancho, Aurora, Broomfield now Trinidad.
Steve is tasked with a lot in leading a city poised for major growth.
One of the things we know he already loves about the job and opportunity is with what Trinidad and our Region has to offer in outdoor recreation opportunities (to include some businesses deciding to more here).
Some of the questions asked:
- What's the role of the City Manager?
- What were some of the things you saw as opportunities when you were thinking about becoming the Trinidad City Manager, what hooked you on Trinidad and SoCO?
- When is the City going to take care of my issue?
- If my property taxes have increased, why don’t I see more work being done?
- Why does the City hire consultants?
- Budget time is just around the corner, how does the city conduct the annual budget and what should citizens do to help?
- What do you see as Trinidad’s biggest challenges & opportunities?
- What plans does the City have regarding parks and recreation?
- The Riverwalk, you either have a River or you don't, you can't order one up so where is the city on that opportunity? What's the update and how can people help?
- What do you see as the City’s top recreational priorities?
- A trail to Fishers Peak and Trinidad Lake that starts and ends downtown - in the plans? How far out and how can people help?
